Ungentum Cream

Unguentum M Cream is an emollient designed to treat and manage various dry skin conditions by moisturizing and protecting the skin.

Indications:

Unguentum M is recommended for the symptomatic treatment of:

• Dermatitis
• Nappy rash
• Ichthyosis
• Eczema
• Protection of raw and abraded skin areas
• Pruritus and related skin conditions where dry, scaly skin is a problem
• As a pre-bathing emollient for dry or eczematous skin to alleviate drying effects

It can also serve as a diluent for topical corticosteroid formulations when a lower strength preparation is desired and as a general base for extemporaneous dispensing.

How to Use:

• Apply a thin layer of Unguentum M to the affected areas three times daily or as needed.
• For protection, apply sparingly to the skin before or immediately after exposure to potential irritants.

Contraindications:

• Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
• Avoid application near the eyes and on mucous membranes.

Special Warnings and Precautions:

• Contains sorbic acid and cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis).
• Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.
• White soft paraffin contains butylhydroxytoluene, which may cause local skin reactions or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes.
• Avoid ingestion of Unguentum M.
• Fire Hazard: Fabrics (clothing, bedding, dressings, etc.) that have been in contact with this product burn more easily and pose a serious fire hazard. Instruct patients not to smoke or go near naked flames. Washing fabrics may reduce product build-up but not entirely remove it.

Possible Side Effects:

• Rarely, skin irritation such as burning sensations, reddening, or allergic contact dermatitis may occur.
